Handlebar positions are counted from the closest to the rider #1 out. Standard position may not be your bikes stock position please double check the handlebars position on your bike. Position #1 of 4 closest to the rider is not recommended. It requires a spacer under the handlebar clamps and stretches the throttle cable.
